The Dominican Order in Eastern Africa.

The Order was founded in France in 1216. However, in Easter Africa, Dominican Friars came rather recently. The American Friars were the first lecturers at a regional seminary (St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary) in Karen - Nairobi, Kenya from 1964 to 1969. The Dominicans came back to Kenya in the 1980s for the specific purpose of preaching and founding the Order in Eastern Africa.

Vocation Workshop Weekend:

There will be a vocation workshop for young men interested to join the Dominicans. The participants arrive on 26th October 2007. The workshop ends on 30th October 2007.

Venue: Corpus Christi Monastery in Karen near St. Elizabeth Academy.
