Sub-Sahara
In Sub-Sahara Africa we have commuities in over 14 countries. We are not strictly a "missionary" congregation. A missionary congregation is one whose primary purpose fr all its members is to do ministry in a foreign country. Examples of missionary congregations are the Consolata Fathers, The Mill Hill, The Society of Missions for Africa, Comboni Missionaries, etc.

However, some Dominican friars may act as missionaries in a foreig country like the American Friars who are helping to found the Order in Eastern Africa (i.e. Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania). Normally, those who join the vicariate of Eastern Africa live and work in Eastern Africa. Currently, we have all communities in Kenya. Our hope is someday to have communities in all Eastern African countries.
