Our Founder

St. Dominic de Guzman was born in 1170 in Spain. He founded the Order of Preachers (OP) in 1216 to be a group of brothers ("Frères" in French which became "Friars" in English) who came together as brotherhood in order to preach the Gospel in all its forms.
St. Dominic died in 1221. Soon after his death, the Order spreaded over most of the European countries and took strong root especially in towns and the universities of Europe which had just began. Within a few hundred years the Order spread to Africa, South and North America and Asia

Vocation Workshop Weekend:

There will be a vocation workshop for young men interested to join the Dominicans. The participants arrive on 26th October 2007. The workshop ends on 30th October 2007.

Venue: Corpus Christi Monastery in Karen near St. Elizabeth Academy.
